Amanda Welch is a very talented lady, not just an author but a photographer, whose work has been featured in numerous anthologies and compilations. Last year, however, saw the release of Amanda’s first pictorial children’s books, a series of delightful read aloud stories for children aged 2 – 8 years. The Three Huskies First Adventure is the first of many books cataloguing the tales of Diamond, Istas and Indi. Amanda’s inspiration for the books was not very far away from home, as she is the proud owner of the three huskies, who now have an additional friend, Neo, too!

In between looking after four rather large dogs, Amanda spends her time with her father, and taking photographs, which is another aspect of her creativity.



Born and raised in Scunthorpe, Amanda grew up with her two brothers and her parents. She is using her childhood in the north-east as a backdrop for one of her ‘grown up’ books, which is a social commentary about life and love in the area during the 1980’s.

Her next Husky book will be available early 2023 and her ‘grown up’ book in 2024.
